From the artist ~ “The theme of two birds on a branch is inspired by images of birds and flowers often found in Chinese painting and ceramics. Foliage, streams and berries have been stylised into more abstract shapes. The cobalt blue and red vermillion colour pallete is taken from Japanese Amari ware pottery. The small vertical border, with the serpentine line, is inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts and is designed to serve as a contrast to the jar shape”
Measurements ~ 22.2 x 15 x 2.2 cm
Materials ~ Egg Tempera & Gouache on canvas. Framed ready to hang.
