Olive Chittenden
Olive lives and paints from her home in East Devon where she is inspired by her beautiful surroundings in nature. Her work is charged with energy, texture and playfulness. Her liberal use of oil paint and mixed media creates layered storytelling and depth, and she is continually exploring how composition and colour can evoke feeling.
Growing up in an artistic family, painting has always been a big part of Olive’s life. She grew up in the South Downs and later her family moved to the Italian countryside where she developed a love of the landscape. Settling in Devon, Olive draws inspiration from her local coastline, her garden's seasonal produce and the curious, beautiful objects found throughout her home.
She has previously exhibited in Greene and Stone, North Coast Asylum, Act One Art and Glebe House Devon, which she runs as a small, art-filled boutique hotel.
